All about CiraNet Workspaces (detailed)

In this post, I am focusing on the different areas regarding CiraNet Workspaces, from the basics of what it is to how you can use to looking at some use cases. This new feature unique to the Management Portal allows each individual user to create one or more workspaces, each populated with their chosen selection of Widgets, which are a variety of tools and information boxes, to serve up a customizable view of the items they need the most for their work. The motivation behind Workspaces is that the most-frequently-looked-up information varies from one job role to another. A Community Manager might want to see Project / Tasks and AP workflows first. An accountant probably wants a Trial Balance and Actual vs Budget. A resident service advisor may need the owner’s statement, contact information, and property statuses right off. And any of these folks might find themselves doing a task that requires something different up front than what they usually need.

The ability to add a workspace is found in four focuses: Portfolio, Community, Property and CiraBooks. Widget availability will differ depending upon the location and your role, but they share some commonalties in how they are created, viewed, and even shared

A common occurrence is you find yourself on the phone with a homeowner who wants to know his balance. You do a quick search for his property address and open the property view. In an average load time of five seconds, you get the owner’s status, contact information, and statement right there in front of you. This is because you’ve configured your Property View Workspace with those widgets.

Or let’s say you’re an accountant and working on a specific community association. Click on CiraBooks, then CiraBooks Workspace. You can have the community’s Trial Balance and AR Ledger pulled up almost immediately because you have configured these pages on your CiraBooks Workspace

💡
Temporary Workspace idea!

You can also add a temporary workspace for a specific project. For example, you need to gather pictures of all your community associations for an office picture book. You set up a new Workspace that shows Community Photos and make it your default for the time-being. Then you run through the list of communities and as you click each one, you get that community’s photos, where you can right-click and copy the photo.

Using CiraNet Management / Board Portal

CiraNet Management / Board Portal is using the latest version of our software, currently only accessible by our internal users (board members do not now have access.)  We are updating it regularly with new advancements and features. Do note that despite this being very stable software, the nature of how we are adding new functionality and value week after week means there is a slight chance for minor hiccups. We want to ask you to help contribute to improving CiraNet by reporting the issue to your supervisor.

Access to CiraNet Management / Board Portal  To access the new functionality available, you need to first visit CiraNet.com, then select Management Portal Beta. (This is not currently available for Board members)
