March Isn't So Mad

The month of March is know for many things: the Ides of March, St. Patrick's Day, springing forward into daylight savings, Womens' History Month, and, hardly least, March Madness. While we love labeling March as "Mad" for the unpredictable excitement of college hoops, as the month sees more of you moving over to the Management Portal, we want your work experience with the new, efficient platform to be the very opposite of unpredictable. Rather, we want the new platform to become comfortable to move around in for each of you. Therefore, this issue is focusing on working with Workspaces, Bookmarks and searching within the Navigation Pane so you can find the modules you need seamlessly.

Bookmark It!

While our most dynamic custom tools for users of the Management Portal are the Workspaces (see the article to the right), perhaps there is not a widget for the module you use often, or even if there is, maybe you just want to be able to jump right to a certain page. Whatever your reason, we've got you covered. You can bookmark pages for fast access. The Bookmark tool is available from the top of the main Navigation Pane.

It's easy to use:

  1. Begin by clicking on the Bookmark icon.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upperright hand side of the pop-up pane.
  3. Find the page to bookmark and, using your mouse pointer, drag and drop it in the right-side of the pane.
  4. Repeat the process for as many pages as you want to Bookmark.
  5. When done, click Save.

And that's all there is to it!

One of the features of the Management Portal that you have not had at your disposal before are Workspaces. What are they and why are we excited to bring them to you? Let’s look!

In brief, Workspaces, which are found in four different areas of the platform, allow each user to set up groupings of “widgets”, which are specific modules that relate to the area the Workspace is in. These widgets can be configured to serve up information in a way that is the most helpful to you and allows you immediate access to the information you need to do your job. In other words, you can group together several widgets into a single Workspace, which can spread across several pages, known as a Carousel configuration, or up and down in a Scroll configuration. (NOTE: the Carousel option is the more efficient of the two.) Or, if you prefer, you can keep it simple and have only one widget in its own Workspace. There is no wrong answer. If it works to help you bring up information you use often, then it’s all right! Workspaces can be configured in Portfolio (the initial page once you log in), Community, Property, and CiraBooks. Users can have more than one Workspace in each of these areas. You can even set up Workspaces for specific projects to help bring together data you need for it and then delete them later. If your needs change it’s no problem because you can modify your own Workspaces at any time. Certain users can even create Workspaces and allow them to be shared with their team. There is so much that can be done with Workspaces, we can only scratch the surface here! To help get users new to the Management Portal started, we created some pre-loaded Workspaces. You’ll see them as soon as you land in any of the four main areas. Those Workspaces cannot be modified once they are loaded because they were created by another author, but you do have the option to delete any of them for yourself. Or leave them in place but make a unique Workspace you create from scratch as your default view. To learn more, we invite you to watch the brief video uploaded to CiraHelp here. March Tip of the Month: Search and You Will Quickly Find

As more functionality comes online in the Management Portal, it can be a challenge to remember where everything is nested. We understand, and that's why there's an easy way to search and find what you need. From the top of the Navigation Pane, select the Compass icon and type in a key word for what you are looking for and any page containing the search word will show in the Navigation Pane, as you see in the example below:

Exciting Announcement: Payables AI Coding Coming

The Development Team is working on an exciting enhancement to help further the payables processing accuracy and efficiency and make life ultimately easier for the managers to boot. Their project is to develop Artificial Intelligence to extract data from scanned invoices to systematically enter the coding for an AAP Workflow. We know many of you will be excited for that. While it will be later in the year before the AI goes into production, we need your help now!

So as not to interfere with the AI, please do not apply manual stamps to invoices starting now.

Answering Your Question: Quick Links

Some have asked where the Quick Links are in the Management Portal. Meaning, the shortcut many of you are used to in the classic Management / Board Portal that allows you to go to one area of the portal from another without having to open multiple pages to get there. While there is still the option of hyperlinks throughout the Management Portal, the Quick Link shortcuts are not needed in the more efficient navigation. You can skip from one page to another faster than ever before with the design of this portal!

Using CiraNet Management / Board Portal

CiraNet Management / Board Portal is using the latest version of our software, currently only accessible by our internal users (board members do not now have access.)  We are updating it regularly with new advancements and features. Do note that despite this being very stable software, the nature of how we are adding new functionality and value week after week means there is a slight chance for minor hiccups. We want to ask you to help contribute to improving CiraNet by reporting the issue to your supervisor.

Access to CiraNet Management / Board Portal  To access the new functionality available, you need to first visit CiraNet.com, then select Management Portal Beta. (This is not currently available for Board members)
