Changing the CiraMail Layout

Customizing the layout in CiraMail can greatly improve your workflow and overall efficiency. By adjusting columns, reading panes, and the arrangement of elements on your screen, you can tailor CiraMail to suit your specific needs. This guide will walk you through the various ways you can change the CiraMail layout in the CiraNet Management Portal to create a more streamlined and personalized experience.

1. Adjusting the Reading Pane Position

The reading pane is the section where you view the content of your selected emails. You can choose where you want this pane to be displayed:

  • Options: Right, left, or bottom of the screen.
  • How to Change: Use the Reading Pane menu to select your preferred position. This flexibility allows you to choose the most convenient way to view and respond to emails based on your personal workflow.

2. Expanding or Collapsing the CiraMail Box List

The CiraMail box list, located on the left side of the screen, shows all your email folders. By default, it automatically hides when you are reading or composing emails, but you can choose to keep it expanded:

  • How to Keep It Expanded: Click the pushpin icon at the top of the box list. This will lock the list in place, allowing you to quickly switch between different folders or mailboxes.

3. Reordering and Resizing Columns in the Inbox

CiraMail allows you to customize the columns in your inbox for better visibility of the information that matters most to you.

  • Reordering Columns: Click and drag the column headers into your desired order. For example, if you want to see the sender’s name before the subject, simply drag the “Sender” column header to the left of the “Subject” column.
  • Resizing Columns: Adjust the width of each column by clicking on the border between column headings and dragging it to your preferred size. This is particularly useful for fitting more information on the screen or expanding columns to read longer text entries.

4. Saving Your Layout

After customizing the layout to your liking, it’s important to save your changes so they remain the next time you log into CiraMail.

  • How to Save: In the grid tools menu, click the “Save Layout” button. This saves your column order, sizes, and reading pane position, ensuring that your inbox looks the same every time you return.

5. Using Lite Mode for Optimal Performance

Lite Mode helps CiraMail run more efficiently by simplifying the display and removing unnecessary elements.

  • Default Setting: Lite Mode is turned on by default. When enabled, it hides additional columns, such as the “Dashboard Responsible” column.
  • Turning Lite Mode Off: If you need more information in your layout (like the “Dashboard Responsible” column), you can turn Lite Mode off in the Preferences menu. However, be mindful that this may impact the performance of CiraMail, so only disable Lite Mode if necessary.

6. Best Practices for Customizing the Layout

  • Choose What Works for You: Experiment with different column orders and reading pane positions to find the layout that best fits your workflow.
  • Keep It Simple: Avoid adding too many columns or turning off Lite Mode unnecessarily, as this can clutter your inbox and slow down the system. So if you do not need a column, you can elect to hide it.

Customizing the CiraMail layout to match your work style can greatly enhance your email management experience. By taking advantage of these layout features, you can streamline your workflow and make daily tasks in CiraMail more efficient.
